photo time

Here are some random photos that I took while on a walk an hour ago...

Mom, who, by the way, never ceases to amaze me, convinced all of us that she had found an arrow head and so we all ran over to see...
This is what it was... (Yes, she knew it wasn't an arrow head...)

A tree and sky shot...

My sister, who just had her 12th birthday on Sunday...

This sounds like something I would say...

!!!ALERT!!!

It's official:
One of the things on the "7 things I cannot do" list has been done!

Last night I won at Dutch Blitz!!!!
With a whopping 80 points I blew everyone out of the water.

This is really big achievement for me and you should have seen my face, and the faces of my competitiors, when I won.

Good times. Goooood times.

weddings...dreams....trust...GOD.

This weekend was pretty fun.
There was the Stephanie Carter/Matthew Perry wedding.
Stephanie looked absolutely beautiful in her gown. She walked down the aisle to the soundtrack from Butterfly Kisses, which I thought was adorable. (Though I will definitely have the wedding march played at my wedding.) Her grandfather led them in their vows and he was possibly the cutest old man I have ever seen.
I love old people that love God.
Pastor Wayne did the "Ring Ceremony", and after a wee bit of struggle, Matt's ring finally fit on his finger.
They took communion, which I think is one of the coolest things ever to do at your wedding and they did the traditional "light the candle" thing.
I don't know if I'll do that at my wedding or not. I think I'd be a little too worried about my veil catching fire...
Then the wedding was over and after making our way through the receiving line, we headed over to the "Multipurpose Room" (I like to call it the old sanctuary...) for the reception. They had some pretty sweet worship music playing softly in the background, but seeing as how I was sitting right next to the speaker, it was clear enough for me to hear and hum along with it...

I mostly hung out with Nicole and Gabe the majority of the time. We had a good time, and for pictures you should totally check out my Flickr site. (Click on the little photo thing to the right of this post...)

When everyone left I left as well and went home and relaxed for a bit. And then I went back into PI for church.
Church was awesome. Pursuing 7 lead worship and they were amazing and pushed the audience outside of their little box.

Then at young adults, Adam Canales spoke on our potential in Christ Jesus.
I was moved to tears as God spoke to me about a dream I had. I had shoved it down and put it aside because it seemed so unrealistic and unattainable. But God said "Don't you just ignore that dream that I gave you simply because it seems unrealistic by human standards...all things are possible through Me...trust Me."

If you want to know what the dream is...ask me.

now THIS is a random post

Now, honestly, I think the idea of tshirts with random phrases or jokes on them are great.
But once you see the same exact tshirt on every guy in the county, it gets a little old.

I say, if you're going to wear a random tshirt, make your own.
Have fun with it.
Get fabric paint and go crazy.
Maybe some glitter, maybe not.

Today's my sister's 12th birthday.
Happy Birthday to Nicole! :)
It's hard to believe how fast she's growing up...

Raisinettes

It's Chocolate Covered Raisins Day!

Celebrate!

Wednesday, March 22, 2006

Well...today I bought a new outfit for the wedding this weekend...
I like it...
Obviously...because, I mean, I bought it...so I MUST have liked it.

There's nothing in my life that's that exciting to report right now.
I mean, God is great, and His blessings are unmeasurable...

But right now I'm just so tired that I feel like if I attempted to list the many blessings He's bestowed upon me that I would fall asleep before even a hundredth of them were listed...

He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth...

As I was doing my morning devotional I came decided to read beyond the "suggested reading" and came across this Psalm...
It made a smile appear on my face and such joy and admiration fill my heart...

Psalm 104
Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains. At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away. They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them. Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth. He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst. By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches. He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; and wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. The trees of the LORD are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted; where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies. He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down. Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth. The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God. The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens. Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening. O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good. Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust. Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth. The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD. Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the LORD, O my soul. Praise ye the LORD.

"I have tight pants, Rachelle, do you like me?"

The reason why I once loved Tait's music was and is a great topic of debate.
Did I like them because they had a cool sound with a good message?
Or did I like them because they wore tight pants?

I say the music.
Others believe the pants had something to do with it.

But no one can deny that this song is powerful...
I was listening to Lauchcast radio on the Christian Rock station and it came on.
And for some reason I felt the need to put it on my blog.
So...here it is!

"Reconnecting" - Tait
Been stuck there under the gun
Tired of livin' like the prodigal son
Everything has come undone
And left me wanting

I'm naked for the world to see
So hungry on the inside to believe
Come down and direct my feet
Start me...running

I've been outta touch

But I'm reconnecting
I've had enough of my way
And I'm tired of rejecting
I realized it was all a lie
So I climbed down from the edge
I've been outta touch
But I'm reconnecting
To You

I can feel You under my skin
Wanna have You light me up again
Tell me where I should begin
Keep me turning

Power comes from Your extension
The words You speak are my intervention
Give me sight to know Your intention
Light me...I'm burning

I've been outta touch
But I'm reconnecting
I've had enough of my way
And I'm tired of rejecting
I realized it was all a lie
So I climbed down from the edge
I've been outta touch
But I'm reconnecting
To You

I'm reconnecting

"Save a piano; kill an elephant."

Well...tomorrow I'm off with the PIHS jazzband for the State Competition!
We'll be leaving PIHS at 4 tomorrow and not returning until Saturday at midnight, or possibly even Sunday at noon. It all depends on whether we decide to stay another night at the hotel, or if we stay at a hotel in Bangor.

I feel better about going, because Anointed isn't doing "Awesome God" this weekend like they had been planning, so I won't be missing that. What does stink is that I was asked by Barb if I would be in another fashion show for her this Saturday...but...sadly, I'll be downstate.

Things that will happen at States:
Egyptian Ratscrew
The dying of Daniel's hair
DVD watching
Sitting in the purple chairs
Listening to the lady at the counter call someone on Survivor a "hag"
Going to the Bangor mall more times than you can stand
The trying of some special coffee that Daniel says I'd love
Using the free wireless internet at the hotel
Oh yeah, music! Solos! Intros! Hard scales!

Perhaps Josh will sit on a cup of yogurt again this year.
Now THAT was funny.

Next weekend is going to be fantabulastic as well.
Why, you might ask?
Because I will be seeing Danielle.
Such a joyous occasion does not happen that often in a year.
:)

Okay! I must be getting back to my work now!
Have a blessed day!

Do you say "blessed" or "bless-ed"?
I was thinking "bless-ed" when I typed that out.
I use both at times...

ramblings...

Oh man...

I had so much fun tonight.

The message at youth was really directed towards me...
...as well as a bunch of other people, I assume....

Dan came. *yay!*
About 7 of us played Egyptian Ratrace for almost an hour.
It was CRAZY.
I was told that I looked crazy when I laughed/screamed.
People discovered how competitive I really am.
I am not really that calm when it comes to games/sports.
I will win.
Or else.

Ugh. My insides ache from all that merrymaking.

Okay! I'm tired, so I'm going to go to bed now!

but I still love technology, always and forever...

So...I'm sitting on my couch...watching 7th Heaven...

USING A LAPTOP!

WOO-HOO!

Okay. Well...it's not really that exciting, because I don't get to keep it. It's my dad's work's...

So...for one night, and one night only, I get to use this wonderful piece of technology.

I love it.
Love, love, love.

*embarassing giggle*

My mom snowboarding: Priceless.

There are some things money can't buy, but for everything else there's debitcards.

Proverbs 10:11-21

The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty. The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin. He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth. He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Lord, make my tongue as choice silver, and let my words be few so that those around me would know that the words that I do speak come from You.

i love roses and i really love pianos

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

I attempt to go to my Flickr page and am greeted with this...

Happenings...

So this weekend was a pretty nice one for me.

Friday night I pretty much relaxed and watched some tv.
Oh yeah, congratulations to the PI Wildcats who are Girls Class B State Champions! It's amazing the people you see if you look closely enough. I spotted Amy Smith, Laura Doiron, Nicole Ballard, and Chelsea Kaiser.

I then made some raspberry hot chocolate and watched NUMB3RS.
Boy was it a good one.
I love Charlie.

Saturday consisted of Debbie Nelson picking me up at 3:30 and bringing me and Tabitha to PIWC. Once we were there, two of the girls which were to perform that evening did not have tights.
So...
Heh-heh.
I like this part of the story...

Debbie told me to take her car (her VW Jetta...) and go to Walmart and pick up some tights.
I absolutely love her for that.
I love Jettas, so this was an extremely joyous occasion for me.

Then there was church.
It was amazing.
Something that I have been praying about had been confirmed TWICE yesterday. Once when I was at home. Once at church.
So I think that's pretty great.

Then Nicole and I went down to young adults for a bit. When we left there we brought Alec Lizotte home.
On the way to his house Nicole and I were, for some reason, praying the Lord's prayer.
But then...when it got to the "Deliver us from evil" I stopped right before "evil" and did a huge exploding sound and then, in a very gruff voice, yelled "FINISH IT, FIIINISHH ITTTT!!". I then, in a very weak, old-sounding voice, yelled "Eeeeeeeevillllllll!!!!".

Please tell me that you know what movie that is from.

Anyway, Alec started laughing incredibly hard. Nicole didn't know what in the world I just did.
Then I explained, and Alec stops laughing long enough to say "That was the BEST rendition of that I have ever heard!!"
I think I almost started crying I was laughing so hard.

Then we dropped Alec off at his house and proceeded to drive the 50 feet to her house.

When we got there her parents still weren't home (they went grocery shopping, I guess) so Nicole and I went into her room and listened/danced to some 50s music.
It was a blast.
Blast from the past.
I love Brendan Fraiser.

Then when her parents got home she and I made some pizza.
While the pizza was cooking, I did something that created a charley horse in my leg and I immediately collapsed to the floor crying out to God to help me.
Nicole says that my face was priceless.
She also collapsed to the floor, laughing so hard her stomach hurt.
I was crying because I was laughing so hard.
Even after I had recovered she was still laughing because the image just kept going through her head.

That evening I discovered that Nicole could not pronounce spontaneity. She said it and this is what it sounded like: Spontenamety.
I found that quite humorous.

So...that was pretty much Saturday.

Sunday night my mom and I mixed cornmeal and water together; made 30 round balls out of the dough it created; rolled out the dough into small tortillas and cooked them. We then made a taco casserole of sorts. Then we made some guacamole and used some of the left-over tortillas as chips.
It was the best meal I have had in a long, long time.
I also appreciated the "bonding time" between my mother and myself.
To backtrack a little bit, during the food-making process, I got an allergic reaction to something, and I took a couple of Benadryl. I should have only taken one, because I ended up being so extremely out of it that I was doing things without even realizing it.
Example: picking the left over cheese of the side of the taco dish.

Then mom and I sat on the couch together as I forced myself to stay awake during the Academy Awards.
Can I just say that I am very disappointed in Heath Ledger? Can I?
I absolutely adored him in The Patriot, and then he goes off and makes a gay cowboy movie.
What is up with that??

Sad, sad, sad.

Heath, my darling, you have broken my heart into a million pieces, and not even the king's horses and men could put it back together again.

Saturday, March 04, 2006

I was totally just scared out of my pants by my dad's cellphone that rang & vibrated on our kitchen table.

Totally freaked me out.

I think I'm gonna check this church out...

Thursday, March 02, 2006

Wow.

Whoever took this photo put a lot of time and effort into it...
It's simply insane!

Hmm...

Jazz districts are tonight.
I'm a little bit nervous about my solo...but, I know I'll do okay.
Can I get a cheer for the PIHS jazzband outfit??

What??
No cheer???

What's not to like about these khaki pants, oxford blue shirts, and crazy ties??

Oh, right.
Everything.

This week has been a very uneventful one for me and I feel like I don't really have anything of significance to put on here...

So...

This is the end of this post.
