After this past week, I have come to realize that I am in need of a car.
With multiple things going on at one time, my family has had to become very strategic when it comes to how we use our vans. Dad has one van all day, so we can't use that.
That leaves our Oldsmobile Silhouette. Good 'ol van.
But I really need a car. Really, really.
I have prayed about this, and now I'm waiting on God to provide.
"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Philippians 4:6)
I know He will bless me because I am His child.
"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God." (Deuteronomy 28:2)

Umm....
Well...it ends up that Shall We Dance was a Japanese movie.
So I started watching it, and I was like: "Aw, man! Oh well, so what if it's going to be spoken in Japanese? I'll just put on English subtitles."
But no.
Not only was it spoken in Japanese....
It had Japanese actors.
It was a completely different movie.
It was inspired by the Shall We Dance that I thought I was going to be viewing...
Needless to say, I stopped the dvd less than 3 minutes later.
So it's a good thing I brought a couple of my own dvds that I know to be spoken in English, and are the movies that they SHOULD be.
Well...it's off to watch either Elf or Spiderman 2.
Quite a choice, eh?
I think I italicized more in this post than I have in my whole history of blogging...

Adventures in babysitting land...
Well...
I'm sitting here with a wireless keyboard, and I'm looking at a monitor the size of a tv.
Oh, yeah, there's a wireless mouse too. I just noticed that.
I think it's pretty awesome.
I'm actually going to go about 10 feet away and see if the keyboard still works...

Okay. Only 7 feet away.
But that's still pretty awesome.
So...
This house is absolutely freezing. I guess they're trying to save money on fuel and whatnot. But still.
I'm scared to go to sleep because I may freeze to death.
Okay, I was not being truthful.
I am not scared to go to sleep, because I have a sound mind.
I also will not freeze to death, because no weapon formed against me will prosper.
I also repent for not being truthful.
I am about to watch Shall We Dance for the first time ever.
Danielle, you should find some happiness in that.
I might also watch a little country cable if there's anything good on.
Then it's reading time.
A car just zoomed by this place. Holy.
Wait...
Maybe that was the wind.
I'm not sure....
So anyway, my delicate hands now are going to wrap themselves around a mug from Japan that is filled with green tea.
Perhaps I will post more later.

Rachelle 101 - Lesson 2
I am a very emotional person.
I scream and yell and get in such a frenzy during games.
Even the ones on tv.
I WILL win. No matter what.
I probably have more thoughts rolling around in my head than even the normal late teens/early twenties girl has.
I believe part of this is due to the fact that I am somewhat perfectionist in nature and mull things over in my mind before, during, and after I do or say something.
I can also get quite annoyed* at times.
I really cannot stand the sound of people blowing their noses
People crunching on ice cubes are a big "no-no" in my book.
As is the sound of metal clanking with any other metal.
I'm not quite sure about how to end this lesson, so I will just give you some advice:
If ever you want to make Rachelle's day then I would suggest you buying her a bowl of purple grapes and write her a poem and deliver it to her doorstep.
*God has been doing great works in me lately about this. Let's hear a cheer for the fruits of the spirit! Ohhhh yeah!
I normally cry about anything and everything.
The Olympic torch went out today and I teared-up.
I scream and yell and get in such a frenzy during games.
Even the ones on tv.
I WILL win. No matter what.

green tea, surprises, and dancing...
As I sit here wrapped in a brightly colored fleece blanket, and am sipping some wonderful green tea, I’ve decided to share what went down last evening.
Yesterday, as some of you may already know, was Laura Mitchell’s 22nd birthday.
She thought that we (Bethany Taylor, Pam McCarty, Christy Zbylut, Nicole Ballard, Laura, and myself) would be attending the Easter musical meeting from 6:00-7:45 and then would head over to Ruby Tuesday’s for appetizers and desserts. Then we would head back over to the Rhyno’s and play some DDR.
But that was only partly true...
So, at 7:45, we all headed over to Ruby’s and we all got some appetizers, (except Nicole, because she’s poor…but we shared with her… :-p ) and then we shared the free sundae that Laura got because it was her birthday. Oh yes. I almost forgot. The Ruby’s crew all came out and sang their birthday song to Laura! She blushed. It was cute.
Then we all, except Bethany, piled into my van and went over to the Rhyno’s. There were about 5 extra cars behind the house than there would normally be, and Laura was like “There are a lot of cars here…” And Pam covered with “Maybe he invited some people over after the Easter thing.”
Well, Laura believed that.
And then we walk in, and Pastor Scott walks out of the living room and says “Happy Birthday!” And then a bunch of people peek their heads around the living room door and chime in saying “Surprise!”. :) Needless to say, Laura turned as red as her jacket that she was wearing.
She put her head in her hands, and, if I’m not mistaken, I think she started to tear-up for a moment.
But she got herself under control and went and greeted everyone.
Then…
It was Dance Dance Revolution time.
That is THE most fun game I have ever played.
If you haven’t played it, you have to.
Right now.
Seriously.
Laura kicked some serious butt, and I did pretty well the majority of the time.
Even if we did mess up it was SO fun.
It was awesome seeing Pastor Scott join in…
Too funny…
Well. That’s just an overview of the evening.
Once again: If anyone knows how to post videos on here, I would be very happy.
As would you. Because I have a video from the party.
I end this post with a photo:

awesome quote
Rachelle: “And his hair was the size of Massachusetts.”
Nicole: “Massachusetts isn’t that big...”
Rachelle: ”It is compared to his head.”

random update
Sunday night my mom and I watched the most ridiculous movie ever...
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
It was completely and utterly pointless.
But it was so incredibly funny. And it was a good mother/daughter time.
Surprisingly, it didn't get done until midnight, so we were quite tired by the end.
But we both love George Clooney, so it was good.
Another thing we watched that evening was Olympic Ice Dancing.
Two words:
Stupidly Hillarious.
Yesterday, my mother left yet again. But this time it was for some conference for her work. Thankfully, she should be home late tonight.
Speaking of tonight:
Nicole is coming over. Which is a rare occasion. I normally go to her house...
And then tomorrow I'm picking out my new frames for my glasses.
Here's to hoping the lab doesn't mess up THESE frames...
Cheers.
P.S. I leave you with a photo of what Nicole did with the flowers I gave her for her birthday. If any of you know how to post videos on your blog, would you let me know? Thanks!

*sigh* this song never gets old...
Breathing -- Lifehouse
I'm finding my way back to sanity again..
Though I really don't know what I am gonna do when I get there
Take a breath and hold on tight
Spin around one more time and gracefully fall back to the arms of grace...
Cause I am hanging on every word You say and
Even if You don't wanna speak tonight that's alright, alright with me
Cause I want nothing more than to sit outside heaven's door and listen to You breathing...
It's where I want to be, yeah...
I'm looking past the shadows in my mind into the truth and I'm
Trying to identify the voices in my head God, which one's You
Let me feel one more time what it feels like to feel and
Break these calluses off of me one more time
Cause I am hanging on every word You say and
Even if You don't wanna speak tonight that's alright, alright with me
Cause I want nothing more than
To sit outside Your door and listen to You breathing...
It's where I wanna be, yeah...
I don't want a thing from You
I bet You're tired of me waiting for the scraps to fall off of Your table to the ground...
La da da da da da da da da...
Cause I just want to be here now...
Cause I am hanging on every word You say and
Even if You don't wanna speak tonight that's alright, alright with me

note to self
lack of sleep + lack of protein + chocolate - water = dizzyness, nausea, headache, feeling faint
just some odds and ends
I just got home from taking the siblings to swim class.
The smell of chlorine lingers on my clothing.
I am now about to bake some goodies for my wonderful family who better appreciate it.
It's pretty much a coming home treat for my mother; who, by the way, should be arriving either late tonight or early tomorrow morning.
It's absolutely gorgeous outside.
40 and sunny.
The roads are a little wet which causes my windshield to get a little dirty, but other than that it's pretty nice.
I wished my camera batteries had been charged on the way home from PI because the sky was really pretty. God's creation fascinates me.
I'm looking forward to some short track speed skating this evening.
Men's 500m.
Apolo is racing. (Y) <---MSN users.
There's smallgroups tonight.
I have no idea what we're doing.
I just hope it's not something that we have to really engage in, because I am absolutely exhausted.
Being a substitute teacher/mom for 3 days is really draining.
I love my mother.
I'm happy she's coming home tonight because the house isn't complete without her.
:)

Thoughts on love...
As I sit here enjoying my Whitman's sampler, a question comes to mind.
<----me and my chocolate
Why is it that we, humans, oftentimes get more excited when a human says "I love you" than when God says "I love you"?
When I was belting out "When You Say You Love Me" with Josh Groban on my way home from PI tonight, I thought to myself...
"Why is it that when a human says that they love us we get all excited, and it's all we ever think about and we do everything we possibly can to make this person happy? But God has said countless times how much He loves us, we take it so lightly... Why?"
I want to get excited about the love that my King has wrapped up and sent to me in the most unpredictable package ever. A Book. Or more specifically, a Word. And that Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld His glory, full of grace and truth.....
How amazing.
Happy Valentine's Day my wonderful, blessed Savior.
How I love Thee.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my dear friends!
For some reason I feel like breaking out into an Elton John song...
Oh, Danielle, I told Alex Buob about how you told me, like...5 years ago, Elton John's pajamas were up for bidding at an auction and they sold for...I don't remember how much they sold for, but she was like "I'D BUY THEM!" and I laughed.
That was random.
But.
I hope you all feel the love tonight.
Just like Simba and Nala did.
And I hope that you too throw your uncle Scar over a cliff into a pack of wild hyenas.
Love, much love, from me to you.

I don't normally do these...but this result was too good.
| You Are Miss Piggy |
A total princess and diva, you're totally in charge - even if people don't know it. You want to be loved, adored, and worshiped. And you won't settle for anything less. You're going to be a total star, and you won't let any of the "little people" get in your way. Just remember, piggy, never eat more than you can lift! |
The Longest Week Ever: Day 1
Nicole is currently on her bed doing her school work.
Ethan is currently on his bed doing his school work.
Daniel is currently sitting at the dining room table doing his school work.
Dad is about to make a trip to Ashland setting some wireless internet up.
Mom is in NYC wandering the snow-covered streets with her two sisters, brother-in-law, baby niece, and a great dane. They will be very safe with Cleo (the dog) by their side.
I am currently updating my blog and then it's off to school for me as well.
I love the olympics. It really makes me get all patriotic.
One of my favorite sports to watch is ski-jumping.
Last night as I was eating supper, I sat on the couch laughing incredibly hard saying "YES! That is so awesome! I want to do that for a living! I want to be a ski-jumper!"
At that point my dad walked into the living room with a look of disbelief on his face and questions "Did you just say you wanted to do this for a living?" I said "Yes." He responds with "Uh...do you have any idea how much they get paid? It's not like the NBA you know." "Well...okay, maybe I'd like to take it up as a hobby."
I remember vividly the desire to start a career in short-track speedskating during the 2002 olympics. Some of you may remember this obsession:

Yes, that's right, Apolo Anton Ohno.
Short Track Speed Skating star.
In 2002 he won Gold in the 1500m, and Silver in the 1000m
I was all about Apolo Ohno.
My mom bought me his book.
I bought bandanas because he wore them.
I gave my cat the middle name of "Anton".
I printed off photos of him.
There was literally a shrine to Apolo Ohno in my room.
Though it was not meant to be a shrine, it was.
This year I am continuing to watch him compete, but the obsession is long gone. I was 13, okay? Anyway...
During these olympics he is racing in the men's 500m, 1000m, 1500m, and the 5000m relay.
The 1500m has already happened, and, sadly, he did not even place. Something happened and he lost his balance and almost fell, and ended up placing 4th in the semifinal.
Sad, sad, sad.
So now you've probably learned more about Apolo Anton Ohno than you expected, and I'm off to get some school done!

Yeah, yeah...
I've been horrible at posting this week.
I'll post this weekend most likely.
Busyness to the max.
Don't worry my beloved fans.
I have not left the blogging world for good.
I'm simply on "vacation".
I leave you with a photo that I stumbled across the other day.
I think the photo speaks for itself, so I won't explain what happened...

copying Danielle and color-coordinating my post
I spent 2 days at Nicole Ballard's house this weekend. I got combined total of 10 hours of sleep on Friday and Saturday night. But her party was so fun. :) AND! One of the best birthday gifts ever came a little late. Laura Mitchell! Oh, how I missed her wonderfulness.
The guest list was as follows:
Christy Zbylut, Laura Doiron, Monique Pelletier*, Chelsea Keiser*, Laura Mitchell, and myself.
Getting TO the party was almost as entertaining as the party itself was! The roads were utter crap, and it was freezing rain, and there were way too many hills that my van had to struggle to get up. Thankfully my mother was driving, although I probably would have been slightly more calm than she was. I prayed and thanked Jesus outloud every 10 seconds that He was going to keep us on the road, safe, and prevent cars from crashing into us. And He did. He's good like that.
At the party we pretty much just hung out and ate for a good long while. And then we had cupcakes, which Nicole had as her cake, and Nicole opened her gifts. It was a pretty good time. Laura M. showed up. And just as she was sitting down and telling us how she had just gotten over the flu, Nicole's dog, Abraham, presented a MASSIVE pile of puke for the last gift. Just about everyone got up and left because they were so grossed out. Laura M. just sat there and couldn't believe what just happened. And I sat there and laughed so hard I think I cried. The reason I wasn't grossed out was because my cat often pukes and I have gotten used to it.
Then we went into the family room and watched Bruce Almighty. Monique and Laura M. left shortly thereafter. Then everyone got all set up to go to sleep but Nicole and I ended up watching Without A Paddle. Ohhhh my gosh. I couldn't believe how funny that was.
The next morning included waffles with strawberries and whipped-cream, and bacon! So good.
That afternoon, Christy, Nicole and I had a good long talk about a whole bunch of different stuff. It was really awesome. And much-needed.
Then Christy left because she wanted to go and visit Chris who reluctantly "let" her go to Nicole's party. ;) What a cute couple they are, eh?
Saturday night the CW crew did a skit. Pat Ballard liked it.
Which was good.
Church was amazing, especially the end. And I don't mean that in a "I was so glad it was over" way, I mean the end of the service when the worship was amazing, and people were on their faces before the Lord. Good stuff. That night we came home and ate supper and watched Tommy Boy, my new favorite movie. Then we passed out from complete exhaustion.
Alarm went off at 7. This is the conversation that followed:
*both are still half asleep*
Nicole: Are you going to go shower?
Rachelle: Uh, I thought you were going to shower first.
Nicole: No.
*10 second pause during which the non-morning-person Rachelle comes out*
Rachelle: Fine! Whatever!
I have no idea where that hostility came from. I later apologized.
Went to church, did skit again. Substituted "Pat Ballard" with "Doug Taubin". I painted the "All My Sins" and then rolled over it with sooooo much red paint. I actually got some on my pants, thankfully it came off. Then we talked to Candace and her "crew" for a little bit.
Next was a trip to Walmart with Nicole. She bought cold medicine, vitamin c drops, and a box of tissues, and bagel bites.
I bought an iced tea.
Went back to her house and cleaned up my mess and packed my stuff.
Left her house at 5:45 for the Superbowl party at PIWC.
They had a 15ft. sub from Subway. INSANE! There was also an assortment of chips and dips, and cookies, and some chilli. I heard it was good, but I wasn't all that hungry. A bunch of us ended up playing some card cames, and this one new game that Laura taught us. I STILL have pen on my hand that hasn't come off yet.
Speaking of hands.
My fingernails on my right hand are painted a disgusting shade of sparkly-pink.
My fingernails on my left hand are painted a disgusting shade of sparkly-blue.
Eugh...
My dad picked me up when the Superbowl was done, and I was so happy to see him. And he let me ramble on and on about my weekend. Which was very kind of him...I even remember saying "you probably would just like a simplified version of this story, but thank you for listening to it all." Then I arrived home last night at 11:00. Mom was in bed watching some Star Trek movie, and I ran and hugged her and said. "Oh, I missed you."
I love my family. I sometimes forget how blessed I am.
*-Forgive me if I have spelled your name wrong. Though I'd be surprised if you actually were reading this.

*satisfied sigh*
I just got done supper. We had chinese. I love Chopsticks. I hadn't had Chinese since August, so it was about time to have it again. I LOVE Crab Rangoons!!! Soooooo good. And their rice is to die for. (Not literally.) We tried something new this time too. Some peapods in some special sauce. I like peapods, so this was a hit with me. I actually got two fortunes in my cookie. And though these things are bogus and the only "fortunes" I actually take to are the promises to me in the Bible, I find it amusing to read what they are and try to speak the Chinese words on the back... The first one was "every person is the creation of himself...and image of his own thinking and believing" or something like that. The second one was"every artist was first an amateur".
The "Learn Chinese" words were "Younger Brother: Di-di" and "Fruit: Shui-guo".
I think I'll call my brother Daniel "Di-di" now. Because I already have a nickname for Ethan.
Annnnyway...
Smallville is tonight. I am so ready for it! Last weeks episode was saaaad... I cried like the emotional basketcase that I am. This week's should be good too.
Then at 9, it's time for Beauty and the Geek, one of my new favorite tv shows.
Yes. That's right. I watch that tv show.
I was really mad when the Rubik's Cube champion was kicked off last week.
Tyson, my man, you rock!
So...now I have to go review my siblings' spelling words with them, because mom and dad are on a date in Canada and I'm the babysitter for the evening.
And I'm sorry that I devoted more than half a post to Chinese food.

brief update
YESTERDAY (Tuesday)
*Finally emailed Lynn Erskine back...
*I injured my hands quite a bit...
*Used up the rest of my Arby's gift card...
*Went to the PI vs. Caribou girl's varsity basketball game...
*Rode to & from the game with Christy, Alex, and Nicole...
*Picked my mom up at TAMC. She's fine. I was simply meeting her...
*Came home to find that my cat puked on one of my blankets...
*I actually managed to get to sleep at 10:30!!!!
YESTERDAY&TODAY (While I was sleeping..)
I had the most beautiful and amazing dream ever.
I dreamt that I was in Greece...walking along a boardwalk kind of thing...and the wind was so strong that I thought I was going to be blown into the ocean. I was more concerned about my camera getting wet than myself. The ocean was a rich, deep, navy blue... And I walked along a bunch of awesome buildings... And the spray of the ocean was amazing... Then my dream switched to my whole entire family fitting into our old Pontiac GrandAm, may it rest in peace, and driving somewhere... By the way, that was pretty impressive feat... It was a 5 seater, and my family has 6 members. Although...we were able to fit us all in there for a month back when I was 11 or so...until we got a new vehicle.
TODAY (Wednesday)
*Woke up, ate breakfast, got ready...
*School...
*Blogged...
**About to get back to some schoolwork**
Okay. Sorry this was so random. OH! I have almost had 1000 hits on my blog. That's pretty cool to me. So... I'll let you know when it happens. :-)
